We were lucky to stumble upon Hyland's office while trying to look for a
condo in Emeryville. I picked up her business card at a previous place for
its unique graphic design. I had thought to myself, this doesn't look like
your typical realtor.
Sure enough, Hyland was one of us creative folks. She immediately understood the
importance of helping us find an inspirational space. At our second meeting, Hyland
had mapped out all the cool loft spaces in the East Bay with the crucial information for each
place laid out in an impressive spreadsheet.
Over the next few weeks we went to visit every space and we had our favorites, but nothing stood out
yet. And then it happened... we found a loft that matched all our
criteria. We had to act fast because the loft was one of the last units in
a unique complex and several people were interested.
Hyland helped us make an offer on the place with great ease and the mortgage broker she works
with is also wonderful. Less then a week later, the loft was ours! Hyland
made the whole process of buying a house a stress free experience and it
couldn't have gone any smoother.

When we bought our warehouse in Oakland, Hyland's connections were invaluable.
She lives around the corner and knew the previous owners -- and more importantly,
she connected us with architects and helped us navigate the maze of city agencies
that was essential to figuring out whether or not we could build our dream live/work space
within the warehouse. And now we are building it!

Last year my landlord told me that she wanted to move into the house I had been renting from her in West Oakland...

finding a place in the Bay Area, she found us a new dog-friendly home about five minutes from my old place! Hyland is dialed into spaces
like no one else I know.
