I’m a realtor, but not like Annette Bening in
American Beauty.
At least I hope not!
Being a realtor is hard work and great fun... and I love it. I love listening to my clients and absorbing their needs and preferences. I love helping them create a prioritized ”wish list“ and incorporating that into my radar. I love honing in on just the right place. I love strategizing to get the property they want... and then dotting all of the i’s and crossing all of the t’s until they get the keys. I love it all!
I still remember how thrilled I was to buy my first (and only!) house ten years ago. It was tiny and a little ramshackle, but it was mine! It's a privilege to participate in that experience for other people.
And I have yet to meet another living soul that is pickier than me when it comes to aesthetics. I welcome the challenge!
If you think I might be the realtor for you, give me a jingle. I’d love to find the perfect place for you. And even if it happens to be a charming property, I promise that I won’t call it a “charmer!”
I’m just your typical designer-turned-affordable housing developer-turned-realtor.
I am passionate about the design of space and how it makes us feel. And I believe that everyone deserves the right to live in beauty. And I could talk your ear off about color given half a chance.
The house I bought ten years ago is still tiny, but I've tricked it out with dish drawers, walls of bamboo, and a color palette that I spent 11 months (deliriously) obsessing over.
My urban oasis is in the northwest corner of Oakland within a few blocks of both Emeryville and Berkeley; I call the neighborhood "Oakleyville."
I’ve served the arts as an
Oakland Arts Commissioner
for five years and as board president of the
Crucible for two years. Real estate and shopping for
70s funk and
60s jazz records fills up my
dance card these days.
Back in the day I graduated from
Parsons School of Design in
New York City with a BFA in Communication Design.
I continue to be influenced, inspired, and amazed by:

Luis Barragan
Buckminster Fuller
community artist
Lily Yeh

humanist architect
Samuel Mockbee
urbanist / landscape architect
Walter Hood
perverse optimist
Tibor Kalman
Bill Strickland and The Manchester Craftsmens Guild
Rick Lowe
and his
Project Row Houses...
and occasionally that dusty art event in the Nevada desert.
